WASHINGTON DC–Embattled Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene responded strongly to her detractors, both inside the US House of Representatives and in the media, by returning her focus to working for her constituents in Georgia.

“These morons may have voted to remove me from various committees,” Greene said, “But that only allows me to turn my full attention on what’s really important; my supporters in the great state of Georgia. The Peach State.”

Greene promised to continue her support of former president Donald Trump in a way that she says will highlight the corruption behind his ongoing impeachment trial while also removing a damaging connection between the proceedings and her home state.

“I’ve proposed a joint resolution that will permanently remove the word peach from the term impeachment,” Greene stated, “Not only to erase this horrible connection to Georgia, the peach state, but to erase any comparisons to these criminal hearings and peaches. Peaches are sweet. What they’re doing to my president is sour grapes.”

Greene declined to elaborate whether the resolution would propose a new word to replace the peach in impeachment. When asked for comment on the situation, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R. Ky.) could only speculate.

“I don’t think you could substitute sour grapes for peach, I really don’t,” McConnell said, “That’s too tough to say, especially in the south. Maybe we just leave it out for now. Just im-ment. That’s not bad, actually. I’m voting for im-ment.”
